After some good back and forth exchanges, Natalya trapped Charlotte in the Sharpshooter, but Ric once again made the difference, distracting Natalya. Charlotte worked on Natalya’s legs, softening her up so that she could lock her in the Figure Eight, while Natalya too worked on Charlotte’s quadriceps, to set up her Sharpshooter finisher. Natalya once again showed that she needs to be in the spotlight by chain wrestling with Charlotte, before the Divas champion turned the tide in her favor.įor a change, both the divas showed good in – ring psychology, which is rare in the divas division. Natalya is easily the best wrestler in the division, and WWE hasn’t done justice to her pedigree and talent, also considering the fact that she is a second generation star, and is related to Bret Hart. The match between Charlotte and Natalya was initially going to be a non title match, but Natalya taunted Charlotte into putting the title on the line. It was also one of the best matches on the card.Ĭharlotte (with Ric Flair) defeated Natalya to retain the WWE Divas Championship While the win put the NXT Tag Team champs over, the manner in which they used Carmella as a pawn made sure it didn’t hurt Enzo and Cass. The match was well booked, and both the teams had great chemistry. The Revival is easily one of the best tag teams in the company, and after an initial onslaught, The Revival managed to peg things back and after some back and forth action, they connected with the Shatter Machine finisher on Enzo to pick up the victory.
The fans adore The Realest Guys In The Room, but they’re going after a team which reminds the fans of the old – school tag teams – your smash mouth styled duo which has been a refreshing change. The Revival defeated Enzo and Cass (with Carmella) to retain the NXT Tag Team ChampionshipĮnzo, Cass and Carmella made their way out next, and received a big pop. This could’ve been a RAW/SmackDown match, but not on a Network Special. There was absolutely no point to it, but Jericho showed his mastery and in – ring presence to lock Swagger in the Walls of Jericho to pick up the victory. Swagger made his way out next for their match, as Jericho and Swagger put on what can only be described as a decent bout. Proper buildup is something that is missing from today’s product. I don’t understand why WWE went ahead with the Y2AJ storyline if it was only going to last for a couple of weeks. It’s always fun to see how good Jericho is on the microphone while he was cheered when he came out, he instantly made the crowd turn on him – something he famously did with Shawn Michaels nearly a decade ago. However, with teams like The Dudley Boyz and The Usos on the roster, it would be a shame if WWE doesn’t feature them on the show.Īfter the opening match, Jericho made his way out and cut a promo about hating Canada. The New Day used the numbers game to their advantage, as Woods’ interference cost League of Nations the match, and the opportunity to win the WWE Tag Team titles.īoth the teams are rumored to face each other at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE Tag Team Championship. Sheamus and Barrett then made their way out, as both the teams worked well together. The Toronto crowd absolutely loved them, as WWE is slowly turning them into fan favorites, which is the right thing to do. While the fans are now resigned to the fact that Roman will be the new John Cena – a bitter pill to swallow for many, WWE missed out on the opportunity to make WrestleMania 32 even more exciting. While there was never any doubt of Roman Reigns headlining this year’s mega event, last night’s WWE Network Special – WWE Roadblock left the fans with mixed emotions. The dust has finally settled, and we have the main event locked for WrestleMania 32.
